2011 sees the return of the Waterford ‘by Hook or by Crook’ Sprint Triathlon, which will take place in the village of Dunmore East on Saturday June 18th.
Over the past few years the Waterford Triathlon has proven to be a popular event, providing athletes with the opportunity to take part in a well run race, set in picturesque surroundings.
Triathletes must first swim 750 metres across the picturesque Dunmore East bay, before exiting the water and making the uphill run to the transition area. After clearing transition competitors will next tackle the undulating and scenic 20Km bike, which loops through the surrounding countryside on good road surfaces. Finally athletes will complete the 7km run which begins with a ‘testing’ climb and finishes in Dunmore East town.
Having taken part in this Triathlon before, we would recommend it and hope that the sun is shining for participants on race day!
The Waterford Triathlon field will be made up of a combination of individual athletes and relay teams and promises to be a challenging and rewarding day for those taking part!
